We believe every cat deserves compassion, respect and the opportunity to live a life free from suffering.

The Mau House takes its name from the Arabian Mau, a naturally occurring breed found throughout the Middle East. Despite being incredibly intelligent, affectionate and resilient, most Arabian Maus are treated as pests, left to survive on the streets, abused, tortured and left in harsh environments. 

We are proud to shine a light on these incredible cats and help them find the loving homes they deserve.

Behind every rescued cat is someone who refused to walk away. Independent rescuers often dedicate their lives, time and finances to saving animals with very little support. 

We advocate for rescuers by giving their cats a platform, raising awareness, helping them reach adopters they would never otherwise find, and recognising the incredible work they do.

We also work hard to shine a light on the barbaric treatment of cats in the Middle East by the Government. Challenging the political barriers that stop rescuers accessing help. 

We don't believe in "first come, first served." Every adoption is about finding the right match for both the cat and the adopter. By working closely with rescuers and carefully considering each application, we help create happy, lasting homes.

Every cat rehomed creates space for another cat to be rescued. By supporting ethical rescue, responsible adoption and education around animal welfare, we hope to create lasting change not just for individual cats, but for the people working tirelessly to save them.
